It was the kind of queue that usually means one of two things a new NHS dentist has just opened or the latest boy band is coming to town.
But hundreds of women stood patiently in line yesterday for a very different phenomenon.
They wanted to meet TV celebrity and savvy businesswoman Katie Price, pictured, as she signed copies of her latest autobiography.
Pregnant Katie, 28 best known to millions as glamour model Jordan was promoting her second book, Jordan, A Whole New World.
The fans waiting to meet her in Yeovil, Somerset, were of all ages. There were teenage girls who see her as an icon.
And there were women who regard her as being a hard-working mother to sons Harvey, four, who is partially blind, and 21-month-old Junior.
Her first book, Being Jordan, published three years ago, sold more than a million copies and became the fourth best-selling autobiography of all time.
The latest sold 66,000 copies in the first two weeks, shooting to No 1 in the non-fiction list when it was published last year.
Katie is currently writing the third instalment of her episodic autobiography. The first two volumes are thought to have earned her at least ££2million.
Katie, who insists she is well on the way to becoming a self-made billionaire, is also thought to be writing a children’s book.
In June, she is expecting her third child, her second with her husband, singer Peter Andre, 34, who is Junior’s father.
The pair met three years ago when both were contestants on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and have recently recorded a CD of love ballads, also called A Whole New World.
Katie gave birth to Harvey in May 2002 following a relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
